Thank you to everyone who participated in our Car Wash Fundraiser yesterday, those who worked and those who gave! Thanks to the girls from Orion Hunter 16U softball who gave their time, and a SPECIAL THANKS to ADVANCE AUTO, who not only provided us with a place to hold our car wash, but all the materials we needed as well. Come back often and see what we're up to next - a yard sale, a bake sale, raffles...

Just a quick update... thanks to everyone who has donated so far. And thanks to those of you who are planning to, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

June 22nd, from 11:30 till 3:30, we are having a "Gimme 5" Car Wash. Stop by and see us at Advance Auto, 621 S. Battlefield - between 7/11 and the YMCA. (we might even have some "round tuits" to give out!)

Meanwhile... it's hot, but I'm still running! Come see us...

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Ever wonder how far your donation can go?

• $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about their treatment options.
• $50 registers one person to be a bone marrow donor.
• $75 provides HLA (bone marrow) typing for a family member of a patient with leukemia.
• $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.
• $150 provides 10 patients access to a web-conference to learn about their specific blood cancer.
• $300 will train 25 peer volunteers who can provide emotional support to newly diagnosed patients.
• $500 could provide patient aid to a person with Leukemia or a related cancer for an ENTIRE YEAR.
• $1,000 makes possible one- on-one conversations with health care specialists who provide patients with information about their disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for their health care team.

There is no donation too small. Every journey begins with just one step! Too many lives have been affected by leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and all other blood cancers. All donations make an impact!
