Thank you for visiting my Team in Training home page.
For the past eight years, I've been honored to run with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, an amazing and inspiring group. TNT chapters across the nation raise funds to help cure leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood cancers. Because this is such an important cause, I've decided to help raise funds to support the LLS once again. This fall, I'll be tackling an unusual goal: running three half marathons in 30 days. On September 20, I'll run the Palio Half Marathon in Saratoga; on October 11, I'll run the Mohawk-Hudson Half Marathon here in Albany; and on October 18th, I'll run the Runner's World Half Marathon in Bethlehem, PA.
Please support this cause by making a tax-deductible donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Your donation will help bring us closer to a cure for blood cancers, by funding research, ensuring access to treatments like immunotherapies, promoting patient advocacy, and helping stop blood cancers from taking more lives.
Your generous support will help get us all closer to a world without blood cancers.
Thank you!
June 15 - This weekend, I completed the inaugural Walkway Over the Hudson Half in Poughkeepsie. It was a very challenging course, and oppressively humid, but I knocked it out in under 2 hours, and added another medal to the collection. A good tune-up race for everything coming!
July 13 - Another Boilermaker in the bank! Lucky #13 Boilermaker for me. Another hot day, but its always a fun time and a favorite race. My time in this race over the past few years has been only minutes apart, so I'm nothing if not consistent.
August 8 - Training has picked up, as the first race is just over a month away. Last week, the long run was 12 miles; yesterday, it was 10 miles. Every Saturday will be double-digit miles for the next two months.
August 24 - I put in a 14-miler this past weekend, thanks to some teammates who encouraged me to run longer with them. The extra mileage felt good, so I'm feeling comfortable and ready for the races to begin. Just under one month to the first of my three races!
September 21 - Two goals have been accomplished. I successfully completed the Palio Half Marathon at 1:54:28, and also exceeded my fundraising goal. The Palio went great, and I was very pleased with my time and how I felt. Thank you to everyone who helped me reach both finish lines! I'm still running, so you can continue to support this cause. Next up: the Mohawk-Hudson Half in 3 weeks.
October 13 - The second leg of my three races is behind me. This past weekend, I completed the Mohawk-Hudson Half Marathon, at a speedy 1:49:37, one of my fastest times on that course in years. A great deal of credit goes to everyone who ran with me or cheered me on from the sidelines. One more race to go: next weekend!
October 18 - Today I completed the Runners Word Half Marathon in Bethlehem, PA. With the completion of the Runners World Half Marathon today, my trifecta of fall half marathons is done. Thank you to everyone who supported me on this journey, and supported a great cause!
