Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I will be running the P.F. Chang Half Marathon in Phoenix Arizona in Honor of my sister Maureen Purington who was diagnosed with CLL in 2006 at the age of 47.
I am also running this event in the memory of Ernie Banks, who was the first African American to win the Heisman Trophy Award in 1961, but was then diagnosed with leukemia and died in 1963 at the young age of 23.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am also completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
Thanks so much to everybody for their donations.
I'm getting closer to my goal, and I know this helps with finding a cure!
