In Loving Memory
Jun 19, 2014 by Carolyn DePuy
It breaks my heart to write this post but my Mom has lost her battle with cancer. She was such a fighter, but the fight wasn't fair. The Lymphoma had spread from her pelvis to her bone marrow and finally her brain, she didn't even have a chance. My Mom is in heaven now, finally in peace after struggling for these last few months. She is such a beautiful person, inside and out, and I will miss her every single day of my life. It is my deepest desire to continue to make my Mom proud, and I will continue to train for my Triathlon and fundraise for LLS in her memory. I will continue her fight to beat cancer.
I love you, Mom. I was not ready for you to leave, but I will think of you every day. The lessons you have taught me and the woman you have shaped me into will keep your spirit alive on earth. Thank you for being the most amazing mother, friend, and mentor. I am so blessed to have a Mom like you <3
Let's Beat Cancer Together!

At this point, you have most likely heard about my Mom's diagnosis and the beginning of her battle with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.
I want to tell you a little bit more about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and why I have chosen to support LLS.
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.
I have personally experienced the contibutions of LLS. Sitting in the waiting room of the hospital, I noticed information booklets about Lymphoma and blood transfusions. They were booklets created by LLS and distributed for free in the hospital. I was able to read about disease process, chemotherapy treatments, radiation, blood transfusions, medications, and the implications of cancer/cancer treatments- including physical, mental, emotional, and financial. It was such a nice resource to have available, especially with all of the misinformation one can find on the internet.
And although all of their services are truly amazing, I will have to admit that my biggest motivation for supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is their contributions to research to eventually FIND A CURE!
I want to sincerely thank you for considering making a donation to my Fundraising Campaign and I hope you decide to contribute in honor of my mom, to support my own journey, and to continue the development of a cure for cancer!
My Fundraising Page

WELCOME TO MY TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE!
It takes more than one person to make up a team and that’s why I’m asking you to donate to my TNT fundraising page for TNT!
By participating as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) TNT, I am raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
Your donation will help fund treatments that save lives every day; like immnuotherapies that use a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.
Patients need these cures and they need your support.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help get us all closer to a world without blood cancers.
