I was sitting at home feeling sorry for myself, trying to get over the fact that I was the only one in the world with problems. I had been soaking in my own tears and Blue Bell, Dutch Chocolate, for a week. I went to my mailbox; and that’s when I got the Team in Training brochure. I stood in the kitchen and read the brochure as my feet landed back on earth. The fact that I was behaving like a child made me feel shame I never felt before. So, I figured if I couldn’t do anything for myself, I should try to do something for others. I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
