Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of Steve Coenen, who passed away with Lymphoma in 2008.

Among many other talents, Steve was a prolific watercolor artist. After he became ill he often donated his works to those critically ill at M. D. Anderson Hospital and to the doctors and caregivers as well. Therefore on behalf of the Christie and Coenen family I will be running the Houston ½ marathon to fight for people like Steve who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Hi Everyone,

I want to share with you all my new friend that I had breakfast with last weekend. Her name is Emily and she is 5 years old. She goes to chemo once a week and because of it has not been able to go back to school.

This is just another reason why I need your help and support to cross the finish line and find a cure. My re-commitment date is the end of September and I need to raise $400.00 by then. I can't do this without you all and neither can Emily.
