A Personal Challenge and My Inspiration
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am eager to share with you a huge personal endeavor I have just begun. I am training to run my first half marathon. That's right the whole 13.1 miles. On January 30th, 2010, I will run in the Chevron Houston & Aramco Houston 1/2 Marathon with the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Completing a half marathon is a goal that I used to think was beyond my reach. It was possible for other people. I am training to beat the voice that tells me, "You can't do it." I am determined to defeat that voice.
I am running in memory of my Dad, Walter Wright, and grandmother, Osia Bohannan, who courageously battled cancer, They are not hear, but I know that they are cheering me on.
I am also running for Christine Beneivengo, wife of Dominick and mother of a precious 7-year old, daughter, named Sammy. Christine, at age 35, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and has been in remission for 3 years. I had the priviledge of meeting Christine and her family, and they are trully and inspiration. You may read more of Christine's bio at benci77494@yahoo.com.
These are the people who will inspire me on my journey. On January 30th, I will wear an Honored Teammate bracelet for each one, and when the going gets tough, I will think of them.
I am writing to you to ask for your support. My goal is to raise $1900.00 by January 2nd. this money will be used for research, patient services and education. Please think big and give as generously as you can-your donation is 100%tax deductible. I'll keep you posted on my success! I trully appreciate your willingness to help and again, thank you for your generosity.
Sincerely, Osia Moore
