Racing to Save Lives and I need YOUR help!

Welcome to my 1st half marathon with Team In Training home page!

I'm training to participate in the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon on January 30, 2011 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. Especially for my niece, Emily Pena, she was diagnosed with Leukemia in March 2010. Emily has Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) which is a cancer of the white blood cells, the cells in the body that normally fight infections. At the young age of 6 Emily has been through more than any of us can ever imagine and she has such a great attitude about beating cancer.

Children and adults like her are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

The only way to discover more treatment options and ultimately, a CURE, is to raise/donate as much money as we can to go towards research grants and patient services. Please join us in our fight to beat blood cancer once and for all!
