Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

As many of you know, my sisters, Tracy, “normal” life came to a screeching halt May of 2009. Tracy was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. She was only 23 years old and completely had the rug ripped out from under her feet and our family’s feet. During those next 10 months, Tracy endured rounds of chemotherapy, stays in the hospital, illnesses, paralysis of her face, rapid weight loss, hair loss, and felt more horrible than she ever thought she could ever possibly feel. She received a bone marrow transplant in February 2010. After a successful 6 months of no detectable cancer cells in her body, the cancer has returned. She continues to battle CML and will win the battle this time.

Also, my Grandma, Lettie Hindert, is living with Non- Hodgkin Lymphoma and my Daddy , Roger Lowery battles colon cancer. As members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program, I have pledged to train on the behalf of my family!
