Racing to Save Lives

Dear Family and Friends,

Yes, I am glutton for punishment. I am at it again. On January 30, 2011 . I will run in the Chevron Houston, Texas Marathon with the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It is so inspiring and feels so good fighting for a cure for cancer.

As all of you know my beautiful Wife Christine has battled Hodgkin’s Lymphoma twice. I am doing this race for her and all the many people who have lived with and have succumbed to cancer. Christine is a true inspiration; she has endured so much and has battled so hard. I have seen it all first hand and marvel at her strength and courage. She has endured a stem cell transplant which is the most brutal and barbaric thing a human being could go through. She has had to endure separation from life and from our Daughter. Christine is my hero.

Why help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society? They have helped Christine and me tremendously. They have helped us with some of our many expenses. Cancer cost can be extremely expensive to many and the society helps to elevate some of that burden. They help families pay for things like travel expenses, medications and also the overall goal for a cure for cancer. This is where all of you can help. Our goal is to raise $1900.00 or raise as much money as possible. This is your opportunity to fight cancer which kills many every year. I am doing this so my children, your children and grandchildren don’t have to know what chemotherapy, radiation and stem cell transplants are.
