It's hard to believe, but in less than 3 weeks I'll be running the streets of San Diego proudly sporting TNT purple with our honored teammate Louis!  Louis has truly been an inspiration to me and others on our team these past several months as he has been championing his battle against chronic myelogenous leukmeia (CML).  LLS recently published a short story about him that you should read because it celebrates the amazing advancements LLS-sponsored research has made while showing the positive impact these advancements have had on an individual's life!  You can read it here.

On to the reason we're here - fundraising!!!  Congratulations to MY DAD who won the "Run to Triumph" visor for donating early on in the $50 from 50 States Challenge!!!  Didn't donate in time to win?? Well, here's your second chance!!  I'm opening up the challenge to where anyone who donates $50 can sponsor a state of their choosing that isn't colored purple yet!  So move that mouse over to the right side of the page and click away to make a donation!  You have until May 31st!!

Today kicks off my $50 from 50 States Challenge!  See the map below?? My goal is to be able to color each of these states TNT Purple!  When I receive $50 in total donations (it can be from 1 or 50 different people donating) from a state, I'll fill it in purple!  In the spirit of my 5 years of involvement with TNT, I'll count your donation from a state if you have lived there within the past 5 years.  Just leave a remark when you make a donation telling me which state you want to be counted as!

2015 marks my 5th "Anniversary" with Team in Training!!     I joined TNT in January 2010 in memory of my older sister Susan (below) who lost her battle to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in November 2009. (click here to read more about my story)  

My first event with TNT was the San Diego Rock N Roll Half Marathon and since it was such an awesome experience, I figured, "Why not do it again?!?"

As a tribute to Susan and to mark my 5 years of involvement with TNT, I will be running in the San Diego Rock N Roll Half Marathon once again!  Though I won't have my WONDERFUL support crew (above) out there with me again as I did in 2010, I will be out on the course with my hubby and fellow TNT participants as we run to beat cancer! 

My goal this season is to raise $1,000 for every year of my involvement for a grand total of $5,000!!  Please consider supporting the cause and making a donation to the LLS (on the right).  All donations are 100% tax-deductible and $.75 of every dollar goes directly to research and patient support services. Thanks to your continued support, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is able to continue make cures happen by funding blood cancer research!!
