And yep, we've hit the goal for the 70.3. Huzzah!!

Many of you should be expecting thank you cards in the near future...you know who you are!

I'm fundraising as a mentor for the CapTexTri but the kicker is - I won't even be participating! I'm a fundraising spectator. WHY? Well, I'll let ya in on a little not-so-much-anymore-secret. The week before CapTex, on May 19th, I'm participating in Ironman Texas.... yes. A 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile (full marathon) run. All in 17 hours. YIKES. To say I'm nervous would be a huge understatement. Want to help out? All you have to do to gimme a little motivation is donate to the cause - that's the reason I'm doing it. To spread the word about TNT and LLS and their mission. And ok, it doesn't hurt that it makes me sound a little badass (don't be impressed...I am convinced that ANYONE can do it if they set their mind to it!).

Firstly, I promise I know how to spell my name - don't look at the sidebar. I was just so excited about donating! Haha.

Training for the Galveston 70.3 is going well, and I have some exciting news! I finished my first half iron two days ago - Oilman Texas! 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run - YEAH!

Well, I ended up falling off the bike at mile 52 - I couldn't feel my timing chip and looked down to make sure it was still there...and took my entire bike with me. Ah, I was SO CLOSE.

So what's next? I'm feeling a little crappy now (mostly from a sunburn) and I need to ramp up training for the White Rock Marathon in Dallas on December 4th - I'm thinking of switching to the 1/2 and trying to break my time on that, and shooting for a great marathon in Houston on January 15th. Hmmmm....

Tacky Sweater Pub Crawl is December 17th - mark your calendars!! Last season the pub crawl raised $1500 for LLS - let's try to break that record!

Hi friends and family!

Don't be alarmed that the fundraising amount is now at $0.00! Yes, it's depressing, but that's just because I hit $3575 for Nation's Triathlon!!!! AMAZING!!! Thanks to all of you for your support of the cause...from my heart and on behalf of everyone affected by blood cancer.

Doesn't really explain why it's at $0.00 though, does it? Wellll...you know me. And I'm now registered for the Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 in Galveston. Yes, I feel like a badass when I write that. But it's all for the cause - this is something really important. Have no illusions - the money you donate WILL help find a cure for blood cancer.

Now, that being said - my bike will be leaving on a truck to DC soon (wahhhh!) and I hop on a plane next Friday. Clear Lake International Triathlon was this past Saturday (Aimee's 30th birthday!) and it was so fun! Even if I did get a flat tire on the bike....darn. But, got it fixed and it wasn't the end of the world. I'm not here to win any races. Just finish em! And finish I did. Next Sunday I'll be rockin The Nation's Triathlon in DC with fellow TNT participants - yeah!!

6 weeks til Nation's Tri - getting pumped up!

Today I wanted to touch a little on recruiting. I LOVE getting new people to join TNT - because I want THEM to have the amazing experience that I have had (and continue to have). This season my friend Patrizia Mendes is running with the Nike Marathon team.

Winter season kicks off tomorrow and I'll be mentoring for the Houston Marathon (memorial group). I'm excited to be running with some of the San Diego people again!

Recruiting for winter has been fabulous. 5 people from my office have joined, and 2 other friends (Sherry Hill and Marisa Katz) are in my group of mentees! I'm so glad to be getting others involved and raising that much more money for LLS - what it's all about.

Now to really kick it into high gear for Nation's!

Tomorrow is Hot as Hell Pub Golf - currently have raised over $1300 with this event, and the bars have yet to make their donations. How awesome? Also, super fun.
