Brenda's back in triathlons!

Why, you ask?
Why on Earth did Brenda commit to a Half-Ironman... in April... in Galveston?
Well, in answer to this question let me ask you some of my own:
Why are 300 people diagnosed with a form of blood cancer each day? Why do over 57,000 people each year die from these forms of cancer?
The simple answer: because there is no cure... yet.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, supported by Team in Training, is the leading voluntary health agency promoting and funding the research behind the cure for these cancers. In fact, today, almost 90% of children with leukemia live full lives because of the progress that these organizations have made in the past 60 years.
I'm very excited to jump back into the world of triathlons after a 3-year hiatus and chose to do so in a way that benefits more than myself. Training has already started and in fact, I just ran 9.5 miles yesterday morning. Those of you who know me well should have their eyebrows raised right now because I just admitted to running a distance I wouldn't have dreamed of 5 years ago... and I was just training! :-)
Please consider making a donation to LLS and TNT to support my personal goal of raising $2,900 as I train to race the Lonestar Half-Ironman Triathlon in Galveston next April. Every little bit helps and 100% of your donation is TAX-DEDUCTIBLE.
Much love,
Brenda
P.S. ~ Stop back in a few weeks to read about updates in my training. :-D
