Well it's only 7 more weeks till race day. I have been training hard and starting to notice it is getting a little bit easier. This Saturday we will be riding 30 miles and running 4 miles. So far the most I've done is 25 miles on the bike followed by 4 miles running. Here's what a typical week looks like for me. Monday-weights, Tuesday- swimming, Wedesday-15mi on bike, 3mi running, Thursday- swimming, Friday- rest day, Saturday-long team practice (the distances are increasing every week), and Sunday- rest day
Ive been doing what I am supposed to except for the swimming. Ive been lazy when it comes to that. Im very cold natured and I haven't wanted to get in the pool. I know it's getting too close to mess around so I better get to it.
I competed in my first "race" (a 5k) last saturday with my husband Colin. Our son (3 1/2) did his first race that day as well. His was a 1/2 mile. We all did well.
Thanks to everyone who has donated or purchased my yummy banana nut bread. I'm about 700 dollars away from my goal. Please help me to reach it. Thanks for your support.

Here is Little Colin during the race.
This is Luca our honored teammate. He was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on April 17, 2008
So today I decided to bake banana nut bread in a jar and sell it. I just listed it on my neighborhood website hoping that someone would be interested. i will let yall know how sales go. I hope it sells otherwise I might have to eat it and I dont think that will be good for my training. On a side note I got my bike fitted yesterday and then rode 10 miles. I set a PR for my pace at 13.7mi/hr and after biking I ran/walked 3 more miles. I was so tired when I was done. I feel a little sore today but not too bad.
Well today was the first day that I tried out panhandling. My mom and I stood on the corner with our lovely signs and asked stopped traffic for donations. I thought it was going well until we were yelled at by the local bum to get off "His corner". We did since technically it probably was his corner. Then tried another location for about 45 mins and with very little luck called it a day. Thanks mom for working the streets with me!! Back at it next week. 1.5 hours = $100.
