Racing to Save Lives

I am not a runner. I have never had any interest in completing any sort of endurance running event, but I came to a fairly important conclusion this year: I am lucky - I am healthy, my family is healthy, those people in my life who have heard the scary words "you have cancer" are still here, living life with me. Not everyone is so lucky.

So, I have decided to do anything that I can to help make a difference. I am training to participate in the Houston 1/2 Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. That's 13.1 miles! For those of you keeping track, we're talking about roughly 13 more miles than I have ever run.

LLS is the world's largest organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research. Their mission is simple - to cure blood cancer and improve the lives of patients dealing with blood cancers.

Everyone involved with Team In Training is raising funds (and running many, many miles) to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. We need your donations!

This cause is important to me, and I WILL cross that finish line in January. Please help by making a donation (no amount is too small) and holding me accountable. I have set a goal of $3,000, but I have no doubt we can beat that easily!
