Riding to Save Lives!
Welcome! Thanks for taking the time to check out my fundraising page.
I'm training to participate in the Armadillo Hill Country Classic 2009 endurance event on May 9 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training.
This is my third event with Team In Training. I recently participated in a 100 mile bike ride in Honolulu on September 28, 2008.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. My personal goal is to raise $3000 by March 27, 2009. If you are unable to make a donation, maybe you know someone who will. Please pass this along to all of your friends!
Come back and visit my web site often to check on my progress. Thanks for your support!

I'm still alive! I haven't updated the site lately because an injury has kept me from riding, but I will still be doing the event and I'm looking forward to the taper ride this weekend.

Rode 62 miles in Magnolia this morning. I love this route - it's my favorite. I couldn't feel my toes for the first half of the ride, but when the sun came out they finally defrosted.

70 miles in Hempstead today.

Is anybody else tired of the wind yet?? Rode 50 miles out by Zube Park off 290 this morning. The wind got progressively worse, but it wasn't as bad as last week. Plus, there weren't any dogs chasing us this time!

Rode 43 miles in Katy this morning. The wind was rough but a lot of fun on the way back!! I felt like I was riding sideways during the legs with crosswind...

Rode 46 miles in Katy this morning. A lot more people took the long route this time, but it ended up being just Albert and I in the front. It started to rain on us on the never-ending stretch on 90.

Rode 42 miles in Atasocita this morning. Three of us decided to go with the long route. Diego got two flats. Weather wasn't too chilly but it was pretty windy!

Did 1 hour of spinning today at Lifetime. It's never as good as being out on the road, but at least it keeps me in shape during the week.
02/07/09:
We met at the Memorial Picnic Loop this morning. I showed up an hour early to get some extra miles in since I had to leave early. Unfourtantely I missed the team introductions, but I hope to catch up next Saturday.
