Hello friends and family!
Thank you for visiting my official Team in Training webpage!
In case you didn't know, I'm training to run my second half-marathon (13.1 miles) this November in Nashville with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I decided to sign on with Team in Training after finishing up my first half this spring and wanting to do it again, only better and with some support. Training for any race is a commitment of time, as well as energy, and I am excited to be training with a group of people who are working so hard to benefit others, as well as themselves. While I might not always enjoy getting up early to run in the heat of the Tennesee summer, pushing a double stroller with two cranky toddlers, or slogging out a few miles on my enemy, the treadmill, I do it anyway. I do it for my health, for my children, and because I can. I am grateful every day that my legs will run, my heart will pound (and pound, and pound) and that I have my health.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, including our honored teammate, Sarah, my late Uncle Kenneth Howard and my late grandfather Glenn Parker, as well as for all of my friends and family out there whose lives have been upturned by cancer. The mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to find a cure for these cancers and improve the lives of those suffering from them. Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Every little bit helps!
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
