Cindy LaFlamme joins"Team in Training" to raise funds for Cancer Research in honor of Joey Baar.
Hello to all my friends!
As you all may know one of my passions in life is running! I have decided to take my passion and use it to make a difference in the lives of others. Every year cancer threatens the lives of millions of people-including our loved ones. This is where I need your help.
I'm running in the Nike Woman's Marathon on Oct. 19, 2008 in San Francisco to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society , and as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Our team is raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers including my wonderful Uncle Robert Hunsader who died of Leukemia several years ago and honored teammate Joey Baar who is my Cousin MaryJo (Hunsader)and Jim Baar's son who was just diagnosed with Leukemia on April 30, 2008 at the age of 7. He is currently undergoing chemo and other drug treatments at All Children's Hospital and home. The total treatment period will last about 3 years. Please keep Joey and their family in your prayers. These suffering people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line -A CURE! So Please,
I am asking you to donate $1 for every mile I run-that's 26.2 dollars to support my participation in Team In Training ( any donation would help!)and help advance LLS's mission. If you don't feel comfortable with online donations you can mail me a check payable to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My address is 804 Hillcrest Drive, Bradenton Fl 34209. I will then mail it to the society and they will put you on my site as a donor and mail you a receipt as these donations are 100% tax deductible.
