Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

On May 1st, 2011 I will be participating in the Flying Pig half marathon which will be 13.1 miles. For the next 4 months I will be training with Team in Training, I will dedicate my mind and my body to help find a cure for this terrible disease that affects so many people. Many people join this to honor a loved one that has been affected by a blood cancer, some join to get in shape and others like me come into this with no personal connection to the disease. I have joined TEAM to purely make a difference in someone’s life, to help improve their quality of life while they are undergoing treatments and to help raise funds so that one day there will be a cure. However, until that cure is found I will be changing lives one mile at a time.
