In 1990, when Team in Training was just two years old, my wife's best friend, Debbie Petroziello, died of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in her early thirties, leaving three children without a mother. Since that time great progress has been made in fighting Lymphoma, Hodgkins Disease, and myeloma, to a great part due to the efforts of Team in Training which has raised over $1.2 billion in the last 23 years towards finding cures and better treatments. I have joined that mission and am participating in the Apple Cider Century bike ride as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating, and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Those who have a blood cancer and endure the tremendous strain of chemo and sickness are heros in every sense of the word. All members of Team in Training have both personal and team heros. My personal hero is, of course, Debbie Petroziello, and I ride in her memory. Our team hero is Ric Doyle, and the entire team rides in his honor.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
