Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm starting a journey that is new and exciting for me. This summer, I will run my first ever 1/2 marathon in Seattle, Washington. I am training with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Myself, along with hundreds of teamates, will be raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team InTraining and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often.
Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

Met some really amazing people who will be running with me in Seattle. We have a small group going, but we will still do great! We ran our 3 mile run yesterday as well. I'm a little sore today, but feeling good:) I will let you know how things go next week on the 4 mile run! Eeek!

Our honored hero is Kellen, a 2 1/2 year little boy who is battling cancer. This little boy is so tough and full of life. I look forward to meeting him soon. If you have a loved one who is fighting cancer, I would love to run with their name on my jersy. Consider making a donation in their name to help stop this disease! I will be running for my maternal grandma, Nanni Dorothy. Though I never met her becuase she died of cancer before I was born, I still feel close to her. I'm gonna make sure to finish this race and raise my goal in memory of you ,Nanni!

I ended up running my long run for the week by myself. I can actually say that I had a good time. I used to hate running, but I am gradually starting to see how good it is for clearing your mind and getting rid of stress. I ended up running the streets by my old elementary school. I haven't been over there in a while and it definitely brought back some good memories. As I ran I smelled the different flowers and tree's and was instantly brought back to playing there as a kid. It was a sweet time, not to mention a good distraction when I got tired. Towards the end I was a bit tired, but I was encouraged to know that I can do 4 miles. I can only imagine what the race of fighting cancer might be like. Our little hero, Kellen, must have faced much harder trials. He's a trooper. I can't wait to meet him and let him know that he inspires us. If you want to read about his story, check out the link below;
Thanks for all your support!

I had the opportunity to run with some good friends of mine this past weekend. We ran through the Santa Fe Dam area near my old stomping grounds of Covina. It went well and they really encouraged me to finish the 5 mile run strong. It was really helpful to talk with them again since they have a lot of exprience running marathons. I am finally going to join up with my TNT friends again after missing 2 weeks. So excited to be with the crew again!
On another note, I am starting to get a bit nervous about reaching my goal. I'm mailing out some donation letters this weekend in hopes that that purple line grows. I am so thankful to all of you that have donated already and I'm excited to see people respond to these letters.
Off for another run tomorrow. This time it is down to 4 miles, but don't worry we will go up to 6 miles in another week!
Ciao!

I have less than 10 days to make some good progress with my fundrasing..YIKES! Otherwise I have to commit to pay what doesn't get raised out of my own pocket. The good news it that I got a job, the bad news is that it unfortuntaly doesn't pay enough for me to take on all the fundraising. Here is where I need all your help! Cancer is something that effects everyone, and we have a chance to stop and help with research and helping families who are facing cancer! Let's make a difference! Even if you can only afford a few dollars, every dollar makes a difference :)

Well, I am sorry I haven't updated on here in a while. It has been a whirlwind of craziness. I started a new job April 1st. It has been a bit interesting trying to fit training and fundraising into a busy work schedule, but I am thankful to have this job! I had the opportunity a few weeks back to meet Kellen, he is so stinkin adorable. When I saw him I started to tear up. I thought about how close in age he is to my youngest nephews and lost it! I am so thankful that my nephews are healthy, but can only imagine what poor Kellen has gone through over the past 2 years. He was a typical 3 year old.. I had to chase him down to get a picture with him. Here it is..with his older sister holding him in place.. lol. What a cutie, and even more of a reason to support what TNT is doing to help people like him fight cancer! Sidenote.. I might look not so pretty since we jsut ran 6 miles! I am now off to make up my run for this past sat since I missed it for our garage sale. Here's hoping the wind doesnt pick me up and take me away. If you see a girl in a green shirt flying over your city, please call for immediate assistance :) Ciao
