Cancer is a terrible disease that has claimed the lives of many people that we know, love and cherish often way to soon. My life has been personally affected by this disease when it claimed the life of my sister many years ago. She was only 33 years old with a full life ahead of her when she lost her battle. This year on my birthday I decided that I would do something life changing for my sister. As a result I am participating in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training as a way to fight back and honor my sister's memory.

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. In addition I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please help me fight this horrible disease by supporting my fundraising efforts and sponsoring me as I complete my first 26.2 mile marathon.
