Can you believe it??? This is my 10th season with Team In Training...WOOP!!
I have registered and will be training and participating in the Wildflower Triathlon on May 6, 2012. The event will consist of a Olympic distance race: .9mi Swim, 25mi Bike, & 6.2mi Run. After the unfortunate circumstance of last years Long Course race, I am very nervous, but ready for this challenge. No dehydration for me this year!!! :o)
As always, I will work hard to learn more than before and do my very best. We have AWESOME coaches, mentors, captains and team manager who will be assisting in my training will provide me with the knowledge necessary to be successful on this adventure!!!
The time has come, yet again, for a change, so why not mix it up with another Triathlon.
My family and friends….as I’ve mentioned before, I work hard to be a stronger, better athlete, but nothing compares to the struggle cancer patients have EVERYDAY. This season I am more motivated than ever….and unfortunately, cancer is closer to me than ever too.
I have remained involved with Team in Training and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society because not only do I get to do something healthy for myself, but I also have the opportunity to help those who need a cure for their cancer. YOU have the power to help them too!!
This season I am fund raising and hope to raise $2500 by March 1, 2012 to help in the fight against leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and Hodgkins disease…this is where YOU have the power to help!!! Your donations will help me reach my goal and accelerate finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
I have also created a Facebook page "Dena's TNT Adventures" where I hope to document my progress during this new journey. If you are able, please visit my page and click "Like" to follow my progress!!!
Should you not be a member of the Facebook community, you can still see my progress by checking out my blog - OneRunners World
Support comes in all different ways...donations, a partner on a run or bike ride, encouragement, sharing my website and goals with those you know, and so much more.....I appreciate it ALL!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all your support!!
I appreciate your time and hope this message has found you well…
GO TEAM!!!
