Racing to Save Lives
It has been a few years since I looked like that picture, but it is a nice reminder both of what did happen and what COULD have happened.
I was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia on October 14, 2005. Without the research that was funded by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (and Team in Training), I would probably not have made it to my 23rd birthday.
Today, I am training for an Olympic-Distance Triathlon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
As a survivor and patient myself, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to everyone who has trained and raised the money that funded the reasearch to keep me alive.
Please make a donation to help advance LLS's mission. Although I am certainly a success story, there are many others now and in the future that need our help!
Thanks for your support!
