My Fundraising Page

Welcome to my Team In Training fundraising page.
Am I insane? Quite possibly...
Towards the end of a long training session, when my feet, hips, and back are hurting beyond belief, I have all kinds of thoughts running around my head, "This is the stupidest thing you've ever done. 7am on a Saturday, are you kidding me? I hate this - this sucks. Is is too late to tell them I quit?"
About an hour or two later once my body has had a chance to recover, I begin thinking, "Wow, I can't believe I did 12 miles today! That wasn't so hard. If I pickup the pace a little I can shave 1/2 hour off my time..." This postive after-glow is what carries me through the week and makes me think I'm not insane.
I'm a big believer in helping others while you help yourself, which is why I joined Team in Training. Personally, I am getting fit, staying active, and realizing a life-long goal of completing a marathon. The flip-side is that I am raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which funds cancer research and providing education and patient services. I believe LLS is a worthwhile charity that is making a difference in people's lives. Cancer can/will/does affect all of us in one way or another.
So, here's the sales pitch: I have committed to raise $2500 for LLS by Friday April 23rd. I'm nearly there, but I need your help to cross the fundraising finish line. Your donation of $5, $10, $25, $50 or $100 will make a big difference. Think of it as "preventative care". You or someone you know will likely be diagnosed with cancer one day...
You can donate online now at: http://www.brookisawesome.com
All donations are tax deductible and it will make you feel good all day long. :)
That's the end of my plea. If you are able to give, please do.
I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for your support,
~Brook

Wondering where your donations will go?:
- $25 could pay for the cost of a patient's chemotherapy drug prescription co-payment.
- $50 could register one person to be a bone marrow donor.
- $75 could provide bone marrow typing for a family member of a patient with leukemia.
- $150 provides 10 patients access to a web-conference to learn more about their specific blood cancer.
- $300 will train 25 peer volunteers who can provide emotional support to newly diagnosed patients.
- $500 could provide patient aid to a person with leukemia or a related cancer for a year.
