Notice how my webpage looks different? For the remainder of the fundraising season, I have teamed up with my best friend Heather (she's on the walk team). We have called ourselves "Team BFL" - BFL stands for Buddies Fighting Leukemia!

Last Saturday was our final regional run of the season. We had a "mock race" called the "Miracle Miles" run to help us be ready for the real race, the Nike Women's Half Marathon and our distance was 11 miles. However, I got lost in Golden Gate park and did not finish the full 11 miles. I was running for 2 and a half hours until I gave up and hitched a ride back to the finish. I had no cash on me, no cell phone, no phone numbers. It was kinda scary until I mustered up some courage to ask some people I was asking directions from for a ride. It is unknown how long I actually ran, but I still had fun.

There sure was a lot of action in the park! Angry drivers trying to run over pedestrians and yelling at people, and the Hardly Strictly Blue Grass concert. I also ran into another group of runners - a very large group of about 100 - mostly men dressed in drag and wearing black. I tried looking on Google to see who this running group could be, but no such luck. Only is San Francisco, right? haha!

There were markers on the ground to prevent us from getting lost, but I guess I stopped paying attention after awhile.

At the finish line, we had a friendly fireman dressed in a tuxedo who awarded us with our medal (just like it will be the Nike Half!)

After the run, we had a potluck with our honorees. This picture below is with my teammate Heather.

Notice the "GO TEAM" sweatshirt I am wearing. Thanks to all of my generous donors, I was awarded this sweatshirt for making half of my fundraising goal by September. It is so cozy and warm. Thanks!
