Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
Please take a moment to view this YouTube video that I created. I made this video to share my story and promote my efforts to fund raise for LLS.

I'm training to participate in this October 17th's Nike Women's Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. This will be my 4th marathon this year and yes, I will be 14 weeks pregnant while running it. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
A little over a year ago grandpa was diagnosed with Leukemia and was only given a few months to live. Grandpa was a fighter and was not going to let that prognosis determine his will to live. As the months pass by, he grew stronger and was even out an about on his ususal walks around Lake Elizabeth in Fremont, CA.
The week of March 14th, 2010 was a start of a joyous occasion because all of my friends and family were flying in from all over the US and Canada to attend my wedding.
On Thursday we received news that grandpa was admitted to the hospital due to an infection. Because I was getting married in 2 days, I had a million things to do and was going to visit him in the hospital after the rehersal dinner.
On Friday afternoon, Grandpa Duc Pham passed away. I never got the chance to say goodbye. There was a seat left for him with 3 calla lilies at our wedding ceremony and reception in his honor. My grandmother gave a touching speach and noted how they had a wonderful 65 years of marriage together. I could only be so lucky to have many happy years of marriage as they did.
My grandfather was a fighter and I too will fight through the pain of running 26.2 miles to honor his life.
During his courageous fight with Leukemia we also found out that my aunt was diagnosed with Leukemia as well. Because it was caught early on, she is now able to undergo treatment.
I am completing this event in honor of my grandfather, aunt, and all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support! If you'd also like to see my running progress please visit my running log on the Daily Mile.
