Cancer won't know what hit it...
Another summer is approaching and that means Jen is training for another marathon!
Last summer, many of you supported me in training for my first ever full marathon (after 7 half-marathons, I figured it was time to step it up a notch ;)). I am proud to say I crossed that milestone finish line on October 19, 2008 and just 4 months later, I completed my second, Napa Valley Marathon.
Now, as I get ready to start my 7th season with Team in Training, I will be training for my THIRD full marathon, and I am doing so with a group of the most extraordinary people I can think of, whose mission is simply this: to rid the world of cancer.
Running 26.2 miles? That's the "easy" part. The hard part is what our Honorees - cancer patients and survivors - go through during their grueling treatment. I want to do my part in making sure no one or their family ever has to go through what they've had to endure.
Please help me in fighting this all too important fight. Each day brings us closer to a cure - not only for blood cancers, but perhaps for all forms of cancer. Advances made by studies that are funded by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society can and have led to incredible discoveries in how to treat other types of cancer. Your contribution WILL make a difference.
Every single dollar counts - there is absolutely no such thing as a donation that's "too small." It's as easy as clicking on that button that says "Donate Now," or if you'd prefer, you can donate with a check (made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or LLS) or cash (please email me at jenniferibarra @ mba.stern.nyu.edu if you'd prefer to do that and I will provide details on how).
Thanks so much and GO TEAM!!
