Update 4/11/10
'just completed the Santa Cruz Half Marathon in 1:43:47 - a new PR meeting my winter goal of finishing sub 1:45:00. And this on the heels of the Napa Valley Marathon in March which I finished in 3:55:45, also a new PR meeting my other goal of sub 4hr for a full marathon! This completed the winter season, the second season I trained and fundraised for cancer research with Team In Training. Now looking forward to summer training for an autumn Half and Full where I target going sub 1:40:00 and sub 3:45:00 respectively, and raising more money!
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I'm training to compete in both a fall half marathon and a marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing these events in memory of my Dad who I lost to lung cancer, in honor of my Mom who is a cancer survivor, and in honor and memory of many other family members and friends who have fought or are fighting the disease. You can see the list of my personal honorees at the top of this blog. They and all those battling cancer are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to help advance LLS's mission.
You can do it right now online. -->
I invite you to regularly check my blog as I train this summer.
Thanks for your support!
Update 10/21/09
The summer of 2009 was the first time I raised money for LLS with Team In Training, and culminated with my first marathon. I finished the challenging (hilly) Nike SF Marathon on October 18, 2009, in 4:12:57. The Team In Training participants in that event raised a total of $14M for cancer research - more than $500k per mile. In addition, I finished the SJ Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon two weeks earlier on October 4, 2009 in 1:47:58 beating my previous personal best by more than 22min! Generous donors contributed more than $2,700 to LLS through my fundraising web-site.
Just Give | $650.00 |
Juniper | $525.00 |
