Racing to Save Lives Welcome to my Team In Training home page. I'm training to participate in the Nike Women's Half Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. Our Team also consists of Honorees who are individuals currently battling cancer or are cancer survivors. These people are a daily reminder to us why we joined the cause. My patient hero, Rol Chapman, is not only an honoree, but a participant on our team. In 2002 Rol was diagnosed with low-grade indolent lymphoma after doctors discovered a bacterial infection in his brain. Rol has endured lengthy antibody treatments and five rounds of chemotherapy. Today, I am happy to report that despite a number of physical challenges that included re-learning how to walk and talk, Rol regularly runs half-marathons with Team and Training. Rol is a true inspiration. When I see him pushing up a difficult hill and I think about what he has endured, I am motivated to push myself as well. It reminds me why I am up training many Saturdays before dawn. Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support! |
