Getting Closer -- Running More


School has started, and we are all very busy, but Alex is great about making the time for me to run. Yesterday I did a very hard run in Woodside. I went about 17 miles, over the toughest terrain I have ever run on. It was hard, but I felt really good that I had done it. Just one more step toward my 26.2 miles. We have one more long run, and lots of shorter ones, before the big day: October 18.


If you are one of the people who has already helped me out by donating, THANK YOU. If you are thinking about donating, please do, running is important for me, but research money for cancer is important to all of us.


July Update

My training continues, and for practice I ran the San Francisco half marathon yesterday. Yes, I am sore, but not discouraged! I certainly know more now about what I need to do to get ready for the Nike full marathon in October. I ran the 13.1 miles in just under 3 hours and 8 minutes, faster than I thought I would. Now I just have to get ready to run twice that far.

I'm training to participate in the Nike Marathon on October 18, 2009 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
