26.2 Miles Toward a Cure
Two years ago I participated in the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life for three important reasons:
This year I am hell bent on finishing 26.2 miles, likely in walk/run intervals (because, who are we kidding - me run all 26 miles? :) ). I'm starting training now because while October is a ways away, there's a lot of work to be done.
And there's much work to be done in the fight to against leukemia and lymphoma, too. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training and its participants (like me!) are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I am completing this event in support of all individuals who are battling blood cancers - including friends and family - as well as in honor of those friends I've lost to the diseases in the last couple of years.
In 2006 I raised $3,000 toward a cure. This year my goal is $10,000. Will you help me? Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Every little bit helps!
THANK YOU!
