Team In Training Fundraising Page for Brian Dias

Welcome to my Team In Training home page!

If someone told me a couple months ago that I would be training for a marathon this summer, there is no way that I would have ever believed them. I have always enjoyed a nice leisurely 2 or so mile cruise on the trails of Nisene Marks or Mt. Madonna.....but 13 miles? You're kidding, right? I agreed to attend an informational meeting about the training with a couple of good friends. I had no idea how inspired I was going to be by the presentation, the honorees, and what LLS and its participants have accomplished. So here I am...registered for the Royal Victoria Marathon in British Columbia in October, ready to prepare myself for the event, and committed to raise $3800 for the cause!

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Now that the reality of the task ahead of me is settling in, I realize that I cannot do this on my own. I am hoping to receive the motivation and support that I need from all of my amazing friends and family. Even the smallest contributions are greatly appreciated!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

Thank you, together we can help people with cancer!

The race is October 18th. Please help support me and help all of us who wish for a cure to this terrible disease.

"Brian, Good luck in your fundraising efforts. Cancer is a nasty foul disease which takes too many lives around the globe. Thank you for taking on the challenge of a half marathon and raising money for cancer research. My father died last year from complications due to cancer, albeit a different form of cancer, as you can imagine cancer research is of particular interest for me. Take care, good luck, and I can't wait to hear all about it in when we are in Reno in September. Erica "
