Racing to Save Lives
Hi Everyone!
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
This is a photo of me with my finisher buckle after completing the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run in 2004 (on my fourth attempt!). That was a penultimate achievement for me, and I thought nothing would ever lure me to try anything like that again ...
So why am I now training to participate in Ironman Canada - my first Ironman - on August 29th 2010? After several years out of racing, a friend of mine suggested that I give it a try - she had raced it also in 2004 - and what really convinced me was the opportunity to do this for far more than personal gratification, rather to be part of a worthy cause as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS)Team In Training IronTeam, as was my friend in 2004.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
