Together, there’s no telling what we can do. As a Team, we can combine efforts to save lives.

Fairn, Garrett, and I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, the 3 of us are participating in IRONMAN Tahoe as members of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the

other members of TNT, we will be raising funds to help find cures and better

treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. We're

improving the quality of our lives by participating and with your support; we can help

improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.

This summer, our family lost another loving member to cancer. In just 6 short weeks,

our sister's husband, Jack, lost his life to this killer. Jack left his loving wife of 40

years, 2 beautiful children and their spouses, and 4 grandchildren who lovingly

referred to him as Pops. He smiled throughout his short illness and blessed his life

and family daily. He is missed everyday.

Jack didn't even have the chance to fight back. So we are committed to completing

140.6 miles (swim, bike, run) within 17 hours to help cure cancer so others don't have

to go through the pain and heartache our sister, her family, and all of us who loved

Jack went through.

With that said, LLS has helped many in their courageous fight against cancer. One in

particular is our sister, Laurette. We are lucky that she just celebrated her 6th year of

being cancer free due to research that has come about due to generous donors like

you. Without your donations, Laurette, like our mom and Jack, would not be here

with us today.

So far, we each have logged 454 miles on the bike, 10 miles in the water, and 108 pounding the pavement and trails from Pleasanton to Foster City.
