With the cool breeze to help me each step of the way, I ran 16 straight miles today! Yes, it is BY FAR the longest distance I've ever ran in my life! Honestly, I dont't think I've even walked 16 miles straight before this.

So thanks for your motivation and for sharing this journey with me thus far! I reached my fundraising goal and my marathon run is a little over a month away.

I've been touched by those who have lost a loved one to one of these blood cancers. So for you. I'll "run . . . with hope in my heart and wings on my heels" Sending you warm hugs and the purest vibes your way.

9.24.08 UPDATE: I COULDN'T BELIEVE...

that i had it in me to run 8 straight miles! it's the most i've ever ran in my life and it's just the beginning! the miles will increase each week for my marathon training.

let me tell yah, it feels amazing after a long run! from a sedentary person to now with endurance, strong will, and sweat...feels like a champ! of course, there's ankle pain, soreness in the legs, sacrificing the friday parties to wake up early at 6am on saturdays for the long run..but it's for you, for me, esp for all the people who affected by this blood cancer.

since i started training in the beg. of august, i know 2 people who passed away from Leukemia or Lymphoma. 1) My best friend's co-worker 2) The son of my mom's friend (who passed away yesterday after 6 months of being diagnosed). so i know that THIS is the right time, this is the RIGHT THING TO DO.

3 more months until i run my marathon in honolulu! i'll be sending you periodic updates of the sweat & hardwork of my progress and where your donation is going. and for those who haven't donated yet but would like to share this journey with me, please support me here

Hey guys, it's Vanae.

You know me. I don't run. Heck, I don't even remember the last time I excercised! But I was really inspired by close friends who recently completed the Team in Training.

Now, I'm on a mission to fulfill one of my dreams by doing this marathon to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma & myeloma from taking more lives.

19 weeks of hardcore training, sacrifice & hardwork for those 26 miles...all for families & patients affected by this tragic blood cancer. I want you to be with me as I do this!
