The runner's high is a lie! The runner's high is a lie! Now that I have your attention...

For anyone reading this for the first time, I am training to run a 1/2 marathon in honor of a friend of mine who was diagnosed in January with lymphoma. He used to be a distance runner. He passed away very peacefully on June 13th with his sister by his side. He had recently returned from a visit to his mom's house in Oregon and from what I understand, he partied like a rock star that week. His sister is going to come with me to the run that weekend.

I am really not a runner and if you donate, you will be privy to a very amusing (and somewhat exclusive) weekly update, entitled "running rants"

Trust me it's worth the donation (any amount) just to hear me complain about the weekly "boot camp" they have us doing at a local track with Coach Cilla. I am pretty sure that somewhere, a small island nation is missing its dictator.

I prayed to the Buddha in the picture and he told me to get off my duff and run some more!

So, to reinterate and do a shameless plug for myself...if you donate, I'll add you to my list and you can read about true angst...but wait! There's more goodies in store for my donors!

I have a weekly raffle for a prize so pass this along and encourage people to donate (any amount) and check the web page often for any updates.

I have awarded several prizes so far, trust me, they're really good (wine, coffee table books, gift cards, animal sacrifices etc...). I also have an evergrowing charm necklace with names on it to run with daily. It keeps me motivated.

Thanks!

~Amy
