Racing to Save Lives
Hello again friends and family!
First it was the Rome Marathon in 2007, then "America's Most Beautiful Century Bike Ride" this past June, and now I am fund raising and training for the "Vineman Ironman" to take place this July! This is a full Ironman.....2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26 miles of running.....and all that fun in one day! Sheesh, what more can a girl ask for! ;-)
It is a bit daunting to say the least, but when I am struggling with getting through a workout, I think of people I love and value in the highest who are coping and living with so much more difficulty and it helps me to dig a little deeper and keep going. People who live with Leukemia and Lymphoma and other blood cancers have a huge challenge, and what I can do to help fight these diseases is to raise as much money possible for research through my athletics that I love so much.
I think especially right now, with the economy being as difficult and worrying as it is, what we can do is to keep supporting others and giving of ourselves the best we can. I truly believe that "it takes a village" to support each other through the hardest and most challenging of times ;-)
Thank you very much for your donation, whatever it is that you are able to give, to continue to help the fight to save lives. I am deeply proud to be a member of Team In Training and will work my hardest to accomplish the Vineman!
To Andrew, Tom and my mom and dad, I love you very much and draw my strength and determination from the way you each live and embrace your lives. You are all amazing people. ;-)
Swim, bike and run long,
Peggy
