Well, I'm At It Again

Getting the word out about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and our goal to cure cancer. If you haven't watched a loved one go through chemotherapy it may be the single hardest thing to endure. I believe that nobody should ever have to go through chemotherapy or watch a loved one endure that.

While many of you know that I lost my mother to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 1997, over the past 12-13 years, I have encountered so many other people that have been effected by cancer. So, it is on their behalf that I am dedicating this season.

So, what am I going to do about?

Glad you asked.

I am going into overdrive and have taken the challenge of training to complete an Ironman distance triathlon. The event is called Vineman and takes place in the beautiful wine country of Sonoma County, on July 31, 2010. An Ironman is 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking, and 26.2 miles of running. Yup. Just plain crazy.

But, if I am going to go the distance, I am going to need some help. Here's the 3 things I need:

1 - words of encouragement. The Ironman event is going to be a long,, long day, but the 8 months of training before hand will be even longer.

2 - spread the word. Most people don't know how much the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) helps cancer patients and their families go through treatment.

3 - donate. LLS funds research of new medicines to eradicate cancer, and supports patient services. My goal is to help raise $5000 and I can't do it alone.
