I'm Hiking to Save Lives - You can help by donating. I'm training to participate in a one-day 10-hour hike into the Grand Canyon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to help find a cure! The hike will take place on May 18th, 2009, and I'm greatly looking forward to participating in this event and making a difference towards this worthwhile effort. I hope you can help me in my fundraising campaign so that I can meet my fundraising goal of $3,800, whether small or large (every dollar counts!) and if your company matches employee contributions, please take advantage of that. Please know that 75% of your donation goes directly towards research so you can feel good about where your money is going. Donations accepted throughout May! Please check my site often for updates in my training and photos of my training and of the event. Many thanks for your support! I was the top fundraiser for my chapter for these past two weeks because of you. For those who have donated by check or cash recently, your donations are being mailed/processed and will reflect on this site in a couple of weeks. Recent hikes I've done: - April 4th: hiked Berry Creek Falls trail in Santa Cruz Mountains - April 11th: hiked near Castle Rock/Skyline in Sanborn County Park. - April 19th: hiked all the way up to Upper Yosemite Falls (7 hors) - April 25th: hiked Mission Peak in Fremont in 2 hrs 45 minutes! - Saratoga Gap & Long Ridge Open Space Preserve (15 miles, 8 hours) Upcoming hikes: - May 9th: Mission Peak in Fremont - May 16th: Leave for the Grand Canyon!! Weekly updates will be sent out to those who have donated, and you'll receive an online photo album of my pictures upon returning from The Grand Canyon :) |
