Training for life



I am training with Team in Training to run a marathon in Seattle. Part of my participation in the Team in Training program is fundraising. We are all working to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) fight against blood related cancers. These cancers, leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma, have effected or will effect us all.



My sister, Carmen, was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2005. She underwent chemotherapy, radiation and finally a stem cell transplant during her treatment. She is in remission and has been cancer free for over a year.



My mother-in-law was also diagnosed and treated for Hodgkin lymphoma when she was in her twenties. She survived and raised two wonderful children. She recently passed away due to complications from the radiation treatment.
