Racing to Save Lives
Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
I am in a race to help find a cure for Leukemia & Lymphoma. Up to this point my race has been an emotional one. A race filled with prayers and hope. I think that I can do more so this year my race is turning into a physical race as I am thrilled to announce that I will be training to participate in The Nations Triathlon in Washington DC http://www.thenationstriathlon.com as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team in Training.
My reasons for doing this are kind of selfish. You see my mother was diagnosed with Lymphoma in September, 2006 just two months after she lost her sister and my beloved Aunt to cancer. As you can imagine my heart almost stopped when she told me that she too had Cancer. I thought that I was going to lose my mother and my son (1 year old at the time) would grow up without experiencing the love only a person like my mother could give. Anyone who knows my mother knows what a wonderful person she is. She has played many roles in her life, daughter, sister, wife, mother, nurse, grandmother and now I am happy to say that she is also playing the role of a CANCER SURVIVOR.
So why am I racing if everything seems to be ok? Like I said before I am doing this for selfish reasons. I want to help raise money to cure Cancer. I know what you are saying, that is not selfish, but in a way it is. You see I don’t want my family to have to worry about any re-occurrences of Lymphoma. I don’t want any more families to lose their loved ones. I don’t want any more children to suffer with Cancer. Most of all I really want to swim, run and bike to total exhaustion. So I am asking you to help my selfish cause by doing a very unselfish gesture. Please join me in my race by donating to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. My goal is to raise more than $2900.00 for this cause and I need your help. Just click on the buttons on the right any amount that you can give is very much appreciated and it will go a long way to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and it’s good work.
Thank you,
Marc Lebron

I run this race to honor my mother and to inspire her as she continues to inspire me.
I also run this race in memory of my Aunt whose love, kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
