Finish Strong

I know I am not a quitter & I can fight through the pain to finish strong. I know
what it feels like to hold my pee for 30+ minutes. I know hard work and dedication
really do pay off. I know I won’t win every race, but that doesn’t stop me
from trying. I know doing my best is all that matters. I know this year can and
will be better than last year. I know my success isn’t measured by my pace but the distance I’ve come. I know how long .1 and .2 can feel. I know when my legs hurt, I must run with my heart. I know running/walking isn’t just a sport—it’s a lifestyle. I know because…
I’M A MARATHONER!!
As family members and others continue to fight their cancer treatments this holiday season be thankful for every milestone you make in your lives, treasure each moment and celebrate each success!

Week 10

Marsha & I as well as Christy & I...I am dressed as a "Drama Queen"
Well a lot of time has gone by and many miles logged. As you can see from my pictures we try to make training an enjoyable experience. We had a "wear red" day in support of Leukemia & Lymphoma Awareness month in October as well as the annual Halloween coustme run. We scared the residents of Weston. Trainings are starting earlier each week (please note it is dark behind me in those pics. The sun is still a few hours from rising. This week will be a 10 mile training run and as tired as I can get I always keep in my mind the treatments that people go through in order to rid themselves of their cancer.

Week 4

Four weeks into training for the season and I feel great. I shared my family's story w/ Cancer as a "Mission Moment" and it was cathartic to see the eyes of people who knew what it was like to care for a loved one with cancer, know someone with cancer and unfortunately in several cases even loose a loved one to cancer. As long as I have a big mouth (no problem there) and a physically able body, I will do my best to raise funds and awareness.

Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
