Follow my progress on my new blog!
Hello and thanks for stopping by my fundraising page!
I originally joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team in Training to help me train for the infamous Half Dome hike in Yosemite National Park that I will be attempting this upcoming August. What's a better way to train? I thought. I'll be helping others, helping myself, and achieving goals that I never thought I could achieve.
But after learning more about the cause, meeting some of the honorees who have survived blood cancer, and developing a real personal connection through the new friends that I've made that are themselves survivors, I'm no longer just doing this fund raising/training for myself. I'm so proud to say that I am raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling not just blood cancers, but any kind of cancer. The funds that you donate on my behalf will not only help fund research for finding a cure for blood cancer, but will ultimately lead to finding new useful medications and forms of treatment for other cancers and ailments such as multiple sclerosis.
I am also proud to be hiking along side the "honoree participants" in my hiking group - people who have fought and WON the fight against a type of blood cancer and are still here to tell us about it today: like my new friend Christina who without the research that LLS funds might not be here today to hike along side me in Zion National Park. These people are my inspiration, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
As of July 14, I have raised nearly $1000! More donations are still needed and I would appreciate any support you can give. Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
Also, be sure to check out my Etsy store where I'm selling handmade jewelry and all the proceeds will go towards LLS!
