Go TEAM! Help me cure cancer!
Jan 03, 2012
Well, it's been a few years, and we've all raised a lot of money, but cancer is still here. Help me cure it.
This year, I have completely lost my mind, and I have signed up to participate in the WILDFLOWER LONG COURSE TRIATHLON. This consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and 13.1 mile run. Yes, all in the same day.
Why would I subject myself to this?
Because any fatigue or pain I feel through training is nothing compared to what someone going through cancer treatment endures.
I'm doing this in honor of my good friend Scott.
Picture being 23 years old, newly engaged, ready to start your life and being diagnosed with Hodgkins disease. After the Hodgkins is successfully treated, picture being diagnosed with an unrelated case of non-Hodgkins lymphoma, that requires a bone marrow transplant for you to survive. Picture being told, at 25, that you have a 40% chance of making it 10 years.
Scott turns 35 this year, and will be 10-years cancer free in July. That's why I'm doing this.
The money that you contribute helps fund cancer research, patient services, and other programs to help rid the world of this awful disease.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
