Ahoy! You made it here!
As you likely know, this July 14th, I will be attempting to complete the Tour of the California Alps (a.k.a The Death Ride) with Team in Training and aim to raise at leat $5,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This ride is an 129 mile bike ride through the Sierra mountains, covering 5 passes and over 15,000 feet of climbing.
If your reaction to this is,"Cool! I want to do that too!" Shoot me an email. We still have spots and entries to the event open. mcheung72@yahoo.com.
If you reaction to this is anything else, including "Are you sure that you were in a lucid and sober state when you decided to do this?", please keep reading. (And the answer to the question is, it's unclear.)
Thank you so much for your donation and support. To those of you who have supported me over the years, an extra big thank you. It means a lot to me to have you along for the ride each season as we continue to make a difference in the lives of blood cancer patients and their families.
Your donations are fully-tax deductive and secure via this website. You can also send me a check made out the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Send me an email and I will give you the mailing address.
Please know that any amount, large or small is more than welcome. If you need some suggestions on how much to donate, here's a handy list:
$150 - $0.01 for every foot of climbing.
$16 - $1 for every hour it will potentially take me to complete the ride
$30 - $10 for the number of cheeseburgers I will want to eat after the ride
$500 - $100 for every pass I will hopefully climb
$200 - $50 for every pass I am likely to climb
$50 - $10 for every year I swore I would never do this event
$40 - $1 for every year of my significant birthday this year
Thanks so much for your support. I'm going to need it!
Melissa
