Don't Beat Kids--Beat Cancer!
Hello. I'm back at it. This time I'm training for Solvang's Finest--100 miles and about 5000 ft of climbing. I'll be riding with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training. Our goal is to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and myeloma from taking more lives.
We’re completing these rides in honor of everyone battling blood cancer. My special motivation: my little sister Meena, who was diagnosed with stage 2 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in April 2005. After dishing up that bad tumor a ton of moxie, she will celebrate her THIRD YEAR OF REMISSION this Semptember. I say that deserves a celebratory ride.
Plus, Team in Training alumni and donors have raised over $800 million for research that enabled treatment improvements Meena benefitted from. I’d like to pay my thanks forward.
PLEASE make a donation and help advance the Society's mission. Your donation will last so much longer than the 60 seconds it takes to make it. Any contribution you make = advocacy for those in need. 75 cents of every dollar you give go directly to research. The other 25 go to my training and the advertising that recruits folks like me--an absolute necessary as each TNT particpant brings in $4000 on average. Every 5 minutes someone new is diagnosed with blood cancer; every 9 minutes someone dies from it. We have to stop this.

Oh, and yes, the picture to the right is of meena. The orange part was her tumor.
We killed it.
Thanks so much for all of your support!
Truly,
Yas
