Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in the inaugural Seattle Rock 'n Roll Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training on June 27, 2009! All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I personally am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers and all other forms of cancer. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
Since joining Team in Training last year, I went from not being able to run a mile to completing 2 half marathons, some 5k's and legs on Marathon Relay teams. I'm hooked and I have Team in Training to thank for it.
BUT, I have a feeling I have no idea what I am in for training for a full MARATHON! I will be writing in my running blog throughout my training so you too can be a part of this crazy journey. And yes, there will be more videos this season.

If supporting my goal of running 26.2 miles is not enough reason to donate, then read the following and see where you money will go. Team in Training gives at least 75% of each participants fundraising straight to the cause. That is HUGE!
- $1,000 Will help The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fund a researcher to find a cure.
- $500 Will provide patient aid to a person with leukemia or a related cancer for a year.
- $100 Will provide a patient with transportation cost associated with traveling from home to the cancer center.
- $75 Will provide bone morrow typing for a family member of a patient with leukemia.
- $50 Will register one person to be a bone marrow donor.
- $25 Will pay for the cost of a patient's chemotherapy drug prescription co-pay.
- $??? Any donation will help continue the research needed to find a cure.
