Racing to save lives... again!

First a huge thank you for supporting me in all my Team In Training (TNT) endeavors so far! In May 2007, I signed up for my very first TNT event. I knew I would be getting in shape by training for that marathon, but I never imagined that I would become the endurance athlete I am today. But more importanly, my life is forever changed by the people I have met who insipre me to train and fundraise until there is a cure for blood cancers.

After the great success of my time on the Spring cycle team this year. It only made sense to train and fundraise for my third sport and go for my TNT Triple Crown award. This summer, I am a member of the TNT Triathlon Team and train for he Triathlon at Pacific Grove, Olympic distance. On September 12, I will swim .93 miles in the Pacific Ocean, bike 24.8 miles, and finish it off with a 6.2 mile run.

As a member of the Team, I am committed to raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. Before first joining the Team I did not know anyone affected with a blood cancer. But since joining TNT, I have had the absolute privelege of meeting and befriending so many Team Honorees. Their stories of strength and courage while battling blood cancers are an inspiration. When the training gets rough, I can look to our Honorees for motivation.... the aches and pains of training are trivial in comparison to what our Honorees have endured. Through my involvement with TNT and the Leukemia and Lymphona Society, I have learned that many of you have friends or family members that have been diagnosed with a blood cancer. I train and fundraise to honor all of these people and will keep doing so until there is a cure! And as I have with each of my events, I will race in the Triathlon at Pacific Grove to honor my father who lost his battle with cancer on June 18, 1990.
