Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

Yes, I am at it again. This will be my third event with Team In Training. I have a mission to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancer because my life was personally affected by one of these many types of cancers. My son, Jarrod, is a nine-year survivor of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and I will be completing this event in his honor. Actually, Jarrod will be one of our TEAM honorees this year! It is impossible for me to put into words how thankful I am that he is healthy and cancer-free, but many are not, and the fight continues.

I will again be training for Levi Leipheimer's King Ridge Gran Fondo, which is an endurance ride of 103 miles and over 8000 feet of climbing. This season, I have the honor of being on staff as a mentor. I am looking forward to providing the encouragement and support that was always given to me by my mentors during my previous two events.

I'm asking you to please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures. I would be truly grateful. Also, if you know someone with a blood cancer and would like to share their information with me, I will add their name to our team's list of honorees to we can keep them in our thoughts. Reminding ourselves of the people we are doing this for helps to get us through the challenging and difficult moments during training.

Update - August 7, 2012: This little munchkin has been added to my list of personal honorees. Her name is Chloe Harrington and she was recently diagonosed with Leukemia. Her treatment begins this week. Chloe will be in my heart as I struggle up those hills.
